Q. What's your story?
A.
After I came up with the idea for the first Blue Venture Fund, I began brainstorming with Matt Downs on how we could develop a highly collaborative investment vehicle to help Blue plans foster more innovation in healthcare. For two years we jointly managed the Fund. In September 2010, I joined Sandbox as a managing director, while retaining the role of vice president of venturing at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

One thing that inspires me is trying to fix the very daunting problems in healthcare while working together with bright, creative people.

I love the culture we’ve created at Sandbox because it empowers everyone to have great ideas and execute them.
Q. Where can we find you outside of work?
A.
Traveling with my family, fly fishing, and playing golf.
