Q. What's your story?
A.
I found a Sandbox job listing online and applied, starting as an unpaid intern for a month. According to Millie, this adequately demonstrated my true love of Sandbox, and I was allowed to stay on as a real big-kid employee. Applying and taking that unpaid trial was the best decision I ever made.
Q. What inspires you?
A.
What inspires me is reading the work of great writers, seeing the way they use words and implementing that into my own writing. Reading bad writing is good too, in the same way as watching bad TV – it shows me exactly what I don’t want to be.
Q. Why Sandbox?
A.
I am at Sandbox for the people, the innovation and the brilliance, which are present here every day. There are so many people with unique and fascinating skill sets that I could learn something from every one of them; no two people do exactly the same thing, so we all have something unique to offer. It’s also inspiring to be around so much thinking, inventing and creating all the time and it makes me want to be the best I can be.
Q. Where can we find you outside of work?
A.
Working.
Half-kidding. I do answer the occasional (no, frequent, I lied) 1 AM email from Schoop, but I also love biking around the city, reading, writing, and drawing. My favorite area of the city is Wicker Park, so I spend most of my free time there.
