Q. What's your story?

A. 

After graduating from DePaul I drifted around different marketing jobs but was never really satisfied professionally. About two years ago I started toying with the idea of creating a website as an outlet for my passion- fashion and style. After working on it nonstop for a year with a new post every day I had amazing opportunities presented to me to work with InStyle Magazine on projects with the Gap, Kate Spade and others. From these experiences I decided that styling was what I wanted to do full time and pursued the amazing opportunity at CakeStyle to have my passion be my full time job. So far it’s been amazing and I don’t regret a single thing.

Q. What inspires you?

A. 

Professionally, I’m inspired by my brother who like me, decided to pursue a career in the arts. He’s now a successful cinematographer in Los Angeles and I hope to have the same success he does one day. In fashion I’m inspired more by other people and street style than I am with magazine editorials or runway shows. Being an avid people watcher, I’m constantly amazed by the style Chicagoans possess when they dress outside the box and I use that for my own style inspirations and work on a day-to-day basis.

Q. Why Sandbox?

A. 

Sandbox has one of those interesting company cultures that you don’t come across every day. It’s a very young environment full of incredibly smart and interesting people that are creating these new companies and making small ideas turn into big opportunities. It’s pretty amazing to be a part of this company and see what everyone is working on.

Q. Where can we find you outside of work?

A. 

During the winter I hibernate and pull all-day movie fests. I love going to rock concerts, hanging in the park, and checking out new restaurants but lately I’m just sitting at my computer working on Hunter Style.
