Q. What's your story?

A. 

After spending the majority of my life in Milwaukee and Madison, I felt the need to live in a big city and started looking for jobs in Chicago. I saw a developer listing on Sandbox’s website and knew it would be an ideal job for me. An interview with Millie confirmed that impression.

Q. What inspires you?

A. 

I’m a developer with an eye for design and a deep concern for user experience. Although I enjoy the challenge of learning new skills, your typical consumer of technology wants a product that’s easy to use, intuitive, and fun. Companies like Apple have perfected this mindset and I strive to emulate that in the sites that I build.

Q. Why Sandbox?

A. 

I strongly value a job that offers me a bit of variety in my day-to-day work. The fast pace of a startup incubator and my position as a shared resource among multiple startups certainly brings this to the table. As a “lone developer” type, I’m able build a site from scratch by myself and Sandbox gives me the freedom to choose whatever technologies I’m interested in at the time.

Q. Where can we find you outside of work?

A. 

I’m a semi-unprofessional, part-time musician in addition to being a web developer. If I have a free evening, chances are I’ll be playing music at any number of Irish pubs in Chicago.
