Q. What's your story?

A. 

I came across a design internship posting online and although I was looking for a full-time position, I decided to apply anyway. I was a little hesitant to accept the internship offer, since I really needed a full-time job, but I am ecstatic that I did! After three months of interning, I was offered a full-time position and I couldn’t be happier. It was an awesome Christmas present.

Q. What inspires you?

A. 

A lot of things inspire me in my field. As a really visual person, anything I see inspires me. I tend to see everything through a designer/artist’s eye, so anything from a colorful t-shirt, to a well-plated dish, to the way the clouds are laid out in the sky, or even how the girl at the register did her makeup, can spark an idea for a project I’m working on. Seeing great design in anything and everything motivates me to create better design myself.

Q. Why Sandbox?

A. 

The thing I love MOST about Sandbox is that everyone here seems to really love what they do. I have worked around and know people who are absolutely miserable with their careers, and it is really refreshing to be surrounded by such positive energy. Growing up, I always saw how happy my mom was to do what she does, and I always hoped that one day I’d have a job I loved as much as she loved hers… and now I do!

Q. Where can we find you outside of work?

A. 

On weekends I’m usually out in the Logan Square area where a lot of my friends live. I also love seeing live music, and a have a lot of friends who play in bands, so you might run into me at a show. Otherwise, I’m probably at the gym, with my family, walking my pitbull Rocko, or with my boyfriend doing something low-key in the suburbs.
